It\'s not secret - the centre AF point on the 5DII is excellent, as it\'s helped along by six \'AF assist\' points. It\'s the outer AF points that are completely useless in all but the best light and high contrast scenarios.
If the centre AF point is all you need, save your money and go with the 5DII. It has incredible image quality, and has pretty much every feature the average photographer needs.
