Re: Florida sunrise and sunset

Thanks again, folks. The timing and location for the sunrise was assisted greatly by Photographer\'s Ephemeris. I used the PC version to find a good general location, and when I got there, used the Android version to identify a grove a trees that would look good in front of the sun, and determine where to be when the sun came up. When the sun actually rose I only had to move about 10 feet to get the silhouette I wanted.

Les, I do most of my research on the internet. Start with the Florida State Parks. Florida has one of the best-developed state park system in the country, and you can see and appreciate a lot of Florida just by sticking with those. The state park web sites provide a lot of information. If you are in south Florida, Everglades National Park, Big Cypress National Preserve, and Fakahatchee Preserve State Park offer lots of bird and landscape opportunities. There is also Key Biscayne NP and Dry Tortugas (accessible only by boat shuttle), but I haven\'t been to either.
