I broke the shoe of a Pocket Wizard Plus 2. If you turn a PW over and look at the shoe, it has a seem in the middle of the plastic shoe. I cracked one side off. The other side is still intact. I am wondering if I re-attach the broken piece of plastic with glue, what kind of glue should I use to join the plastic?
The shoe is a easy fix once you remove the rear cover. Replacement shoes can be bought on Ebay for $20 or you may even can call PW and ask for the parts department.
Thank you, hammer. I can probably fix it myself. I just called the PW folks; 914.347.3300. They have a new part number for the shoe for the PW+2. Here it is; LPF037A. They wanted $6.00 for UPS and would not send it USPS, so they are sending me three shoes for one price plus UPS fee. That is service, my friends.
Update; I just got my parts and I assembled the shoe easily enough. There is a small plastic part with two holes that falls out as you unscrew the upper left screw. That part will extend slightly out of the case, upon reassembly. You will see that the one hole is out for the strap.
