There are some more images from the first encounter as well as some from a second that occurred at about 5:15 pm. The late afternoon sighting was at about 100+yds and in very low light. The park closes at 5:30 and the rangers and guides are fined and suspended for 2 weeks if they are not out in time...there is a camera at the exit that documents departure time. So when the tiger disappeared into the woods rather than walking towards us it was a bit of a blessing in disguise...what a tease that would have been if it had come closer and we all had to bolt. The third sighting, just a single image is of a 22 month old female that came on to the road for just a few seconds...luckily I was in a good enough position to snap a few shots...very few...4 to be exact (whoops I don't have it to post yet..I guess there will be a short pt 3). Hope you enjoy. And thanks everyone for the nice comments to pt. 1. Hopefully I didn't post any duplicates but if I did sorry.
Eric
These are intense, that cat is huge Eric
Love the 'squint' in #1 as the cat strolls into the ray of light
#6 is my pick, ohhhh you are being watched my friend
Might play with 8 and 9 to position the cat less centered? Either reducing BG or FG and maybe cropping a little off the left??
Last shot has my attention!
Another great set Eric. I keep scrolling up and down trying to pick a favourite, you must be having to do the same. I settled on #12 from this set. This encounter must have been great exercise for your heart.
Rarely do images stir my emotions like these do Eric. Some of these I actually felt feelings of fear and I'm sitting in my office at work!! No Tigers here! Lots of amazing work here my friend. I got to 6 and thought Wow! Man the eyes in that shot just caught me. Of course Karl had to steal my thunder on that one The last is another that raised some primal feeling, that is one intense image! Well that or I'm just a weanie!
Thanks for the kind words everyone. I wish you all could have been there...what a treat it would have been to see how you all captured the moment.
Eric
