I didn't realize that Really Right Stuff products were now manufactured in Afghanistan. When did they move from California? I've purchased a number of used RRS products from B&H this year, and in every case they are certifying to the US Department of the Treasury, that this equipment was manufactured in Afghanistan.
edit: RRS has confirmed that everything they sell does in fact come from the USA, and that the mistake was on the part of B&H.
thats everything they manufacture, not sell. they sell gitzo equipment and we all know thats made in Italy these days.
There was a video posted awhile ago showing the machining process used by top Precision to produce RRS parts. After watching that video, I felt that the pricing of the RRS machined parts was very fair. If someone has that link available it would be worth re-posting.
No, because I don't know how much their mistake is actually going to cost me until I get the invoice from UPS.
I really didn't know what to make of their offer... I guess it's easier to slip someone a few bucks than to correct ongoing problems - I first notified B&H of this issue back in June when I bought some other used RRS items.
It's funny that while customer service is handling it this way, at the same time Henry P. is policing these forums insisting they're fixing these mistakes... maybe they should talk to each other once in a while.

i don't see HP as a policing factor just another member voicing an opinion. one that is as strong or weak as mine or yours.
Maybe "spin doctoring" is a more appropriate phrase than policing - his only contributions to the forum seem to involve putting a positive spin on anything anyone says about B&H.

oh, everyone spins it here from their own point of view. this is a site full of whirling dervishes. but yeah his is a little more "focused".
"Ooops!
i thought i put that link in.
the link is right on the RRS website.

Thanks for re-posting that. I watched the video again and, knowing nothing about the manufacturing cost of machining a 12 pound block of metal to a few ounces; I am still amazed that the "L" brackets don't cost a lot more.
