Just got the Rokkor MD 35/1.8.
Brought the lens to the lens repair shop but unfortunately the repairman could not make the lens to focus to infinity and he gave up. It only focuses at 10-11m max.

By the way below is the lens mount photos. At infinity focus. And as I mentioned before it can only focus 10 meter max.
I think it's difficult to remove or shave the black part (red arrow). Or is it possible?
Well, if it's too difficult I will use this lens only for close up shots (flower, etc.) and portrait shots
what makes you think it is that black thing that is preventing infinity focus? is it catching on your eos mount? i would think the lens retaining rings would catch the mirror before that thing would. i don't have that lens but it looks like the black bit could be removed by removing those screws and then you would just have to file the edge that remains. i would take the optics out of the lens before doing any machining or filing though.
Yes, currently it's the protured part on the photos that hits the mirror beyond 10 meter.
But what I mean is exactly what you mentioned on your next statement, that is removing the black part so the outer ring (silver mount) could be made thinner until it levels with that protured part at it's MFD. But I don't know wheter on that level it will have infinity focus.
At least it can focus more than 10 meter
you can remove the black stuff around the lenses. my one has infinite now - but it is dangerous (scratches can be easily made)
however, i my opinion the performance of the 28mm at infinity is boring !!!!!! accordingly i suggest you not to change it and wait for a mirrorless FF-camera. it is just 1-2 years
ROKKOR Telephoto Image thread has been closed ?? I was just about to post the final bid end price of Minolta MD 135/2 which has been sold at AU $1,225 ... !

i think there aren't enough people shooting non normal rokkors to justify the 3 threads. i say consolidate everything to the rokkor normalish thread (i know bif disagrees though).
Interesting fungus Bif.MD 28/2.8 seems to be a good lens, worth to try.Is it 5 or 7 lenses version?
I am not an expert in MD lenses at all but last week decided to get into this realm. Bought 24/2.8,28/2.8,100/2.5 and 50/2 MD Rokkors on e-bay.They 're coming.Thought it's enough but 5 hours ago in a local photo exchange I met a guy with a huge collection of Rokkors, who sold me 28/2,50/1.4,50/1.7,135/2.8,200/4 and Tokina 17/3.5 in MD mount.
I refused to buy from him 20/2.8 (too soft for my taste),28/2.5 (great sharpness but too big for a WA), 300/5.6 and 400/5.6 (too long and not well balanced with the NEX).
Was strongly tempted by the 24/2.8 MC that seemed to be sharper than 24/2.8 MD,but having 24/2.8 MD on the way I gave up.
Will hunt some 35/2.8 tonite.Let the adapters come from HK and my adventure with MD will hopefuly start.
I dunno all of them yet so it's kinda hard to pick a favorite. I guess so far it's the 100/2.5 as seen here. Yesterday or so, I got the 50/1.8 pancake, the 50/1.4, and the 80-200 zoom along with that 28/2.8 but I've not had a chance to try them yet! The Rokkor 18mm f/9.5 is a helluva-lotta fun! It sounds kinda dark but just about any day-time conditions and it turns my GH1 into a very cool snap-shot cam. Oh yeah... the Rokkor 35mm f/2.8 is real sweet too - at least on µ4/3.
Rokkor 35mm F/2.8 @ f/5.6 I think...
How do I determine the element grouping in my 28/2.8 BTW? Mine is the MD W.Rokkor with the serial number: 1083631
