Thanks for the comments.
Copypaste: Yosemite National Park in California. I am on top of Cloud's Rest, which is higher than the iconic Half Dome.
ScaryFox: Indeed some of the sky is blown, but I feel that sometimes people fuss too much about blown highlights. If the sun is that bright, let it blow out! It is scary shooting into the sun, but it often yields the most dramatic images.
A very dramatic scene, and shot at a wonderful time of day when most Photographers are still in the Valley. Interesting to shoot into the sun.
The concept of your post-production work, including increasing contrast, etc., is interesting and generally appropriate -though some aspects seem a bit over-cooked to my eye, in particular some elements on the left side of the frame. I'm willing to admit that mine might be a minority view and just a matter of personal preference.
Thanks for the comment. I am always in the lookout for overcooked processing and I think this one, at least in my view, does not cross the line, albeit being somewhat close.
I strive to emulate velvia-film look in the photos, which are more contrasty and sometimes often masks darker details to achieve it.
Sweet light here. Nicely done shooting into the sun. Killer view.
The only area I see that might need some re-touching is right around Half Dome. Seems the shaded side has been overly recovered....I sense a bit of halo around it.
