You guys must be getting hummered out, but I am sort of just getting started for the year. I have almost predominantly Anna's around here, but have noticed two or three times in a season a stray Rufous making a pit stop for part of a day then gone. I have always been unprepared, no camera, wrong lens or something. This time I still had the wrong lens, but managed to get one shot. I was shooting with my Sigma 150mm macro plus TC, so not the fastest AF, missed several shots because of that. I know not too exciting a pose, but it IS a Rufous afterall. They seem to be a much bolder bird in attitude than even the Anna's, so with the right equipment potentially a bit easier to get than Anna's? Haven't gotten what I consider to be the money shots with a mature male yet, but I've included a few other Anna shots too. All taken with Nikon D300s, 70-300VR, natural light or augmented with single SB-800 flash.
