Nice set Brian.
I like your lapwing best as it seems to me to be the sharpest in this set. Pity the Wren wasn't looking at the camera, would have made a fabulous shot.

Thanks Martin. It is a shame for sure. She was a jumpy little thing!

Unless these are heavy crops, I would say there is something wrong with your 7D or your 500 f4.5.

Hi Tony. Several are really heavy crops. I would estimate that the bird covers less than 20% of the image before crop. (I could stack 6 KF vertical in the frame). I have went through the lens adjustment process and this lens is set at -7. I would estimate the KF to be about 35 yards. The brown falcon was about 40-50 yards. The lens is sharp while fixed but am now wondering if the lens collar being loose on the wimberley maybe an issue as poor technique. I have received lots of tips and this is something I came across reading some books. I am at a loss!
Ain't new workflows fun Brian
Nice look at the Lapwing and agree with Martin on the Wren. Oh for a slight head turn I know you will iron out the kinks and kudos for trying new things Brian
Thanks Lora. The Koalas are dang cute and it is such a shame to see that in the height of the breeding season the Australian Zoo (Irwin Zoo clinic that is self funded takes care of over 60 a month that have been injured). It makes me sad. But glad there are so many efforts to help them. Mainly the cars seem to whack them during this time.
