For all you photographers who don't know what "Series" filters and adapter rings are:

They are "Step-Up" adapter rings that take you from the first size listed, which is your lens size, to the second size, which is your filter size.

"Series" filters have no threads. They are meant to be used with Adapter Rings. You buy the filter that fits the largest lens diameter you own and then different adapter rings for each lens to hold the filter. This way, you only have to buy one filter of each type instead of one filter of each type for every lens.

Most likely you have lenses of varying diameters, 52mm, 62mm, 67mm, 72mm, etc. Instead of buying, say, a polarizer filter for each, you buy one polarizer in the Series filter that fits the largest lens you own. It may be a Series 8, or it may be something else. You then buy one adapter ring that fits each lens, such as a 52mm adapter that holds the Series 8 filter. This saves a ton of money as adapter rings are a lot cheaper than good filters.

Usually a Series 8 filter will cover most lens, unless you have a really large diameter lens like a 400mm telephoto or something like that. That's why in my post I have so many adapter rings for sale and mostly series 8 filters.

Here's an article I found that may explain it better:
