Ryan,
That is so great that you got a 8mm. I could not think of better hands for it as you are a very good photographer. That last shot in the set is killer I love the look, is that straight up IR or some post done to it? Overall comp is great and the mood of it is relaxing this is odd as it is a darker B&W, again well done.
So exciting to be along on your adventure with a IR D700 and now a 8mm. Both of which I desire and one day will have but I get to live vicariously and lean from what you are doing with them.
Thanks!
Thanks! The last one was taken into Silver Efex Pro and I used one of the "Film Noir" presets. It's basically curves, vignette and some grain/clarity.
I'm finding straight out of camera IR needs some contrast adjustments to make a good B&W image. I've set the D700 to monochrome with contrasts maxed and it's giving me a good result so far.

Ryan, that is a beautiful 8mm, very reminiscent of HAL9000. I love the IR you are getting from the D700. And my wife thinks your little man is quite handsome!
Funny you mention that, since that was the exact reason I set the red filter on before taking the shots. I was wondering if anyone would pick up on it.
