I thought this might be of interest.
The new latest Zf. Firmware (v3.0) has added an option to the Non-CPU lens menu. Now as well as adding a name to each slot you can twirl a command dial to the aperture and have it recorded in the exif.

That sounds like a winner. I have often wished it recorded my aperture though the FTZ. Of course I don't have a Zf.
Do you mean because they are all about the newer models or because of the Expeed 6/7 difference Matt ?
Presumably all that's involved is temporarily assigning the function of selecting the aperture value to save in the exit to the appropriate spare dial (front or rear).
I also note that v3.1 has the zoom to focus function cancellable by half pressing the shutter which cool too.

Morten, love the light in those, especially the second. Andy, that F40… awesome.
Regarding updates from manual lenses, I wouldn’t expect them in any of the earlier expeed 6 cameras.

What kwoodward said. Awesome shot. I have no idea how you did that. It doesn't matter how, the shot if impressive.
Ha! Thanks - much appreciated. The blessings of a Oxfordshire spring day. Feels like it took forever for the blue sky to come out this year here in the UK!
My wife and I (and the dog) went out for a brief field trip. She's an artist and wanted some spring-scenic inspiration and I have been tinkering lately with long exposures. I brought my Z7 with the kit 24-70, my ancient tripod as well as the 20mm 4.0 AIS (and the F to Z adapter).
Earlier I noticed that the two ND's 400 and 8 work well with 30 sec exposure time. That's the longest exposure time that the Z7 allows - only 'B' and 'T' are the longer ones. The clouds were floating just a tad too slow this day for 30 sec, but still the movement is clear in the image.
The 20mm 4.0 is a great little lens to carry in your coat pocket! At f16 the optical quality is not very good, but still fine for this kind of photography. The filter stack and F16 aperture probably added to the vignetting and I enhanced the vignetting in Lightroom.
B&W editing was in Silver Efex which is my go-to B&W editor. LR's B&W conversion should have been fine too - I'm just more familiar with Silver Efex.
Barb made another amazing cob of sour dough bread. It was even larger when it came out of the oven. Had to wait about an hour before she let me near it - crackling and shrinking the whole time. She says there is some law in France about cutting bread straight out of the oven.
