Keep this joint rolling with more colour. Has anyone heard from Leighton lately? Overdue some colourful food photos. Hey James, any baked goodies to share?
Yup. Items inside that have liquid in them, if you well pack, should be inside a zip lock bag, then bubble-wrapped individually, then bubble wrap around inside of box, I've had many things inside those gaylords that have been ruined by someone else's leakage. I've had to give empty boxes to carriers to deliver.
Don't skimp on packing well, don't skimp on tape. Ask Glen in Canada how well that box for Nippi was packed
Pack like the Samsonite Gorilla was going to handle it..

Wow. That explains why we sometimes get boxes of seemingly well-packaged stuff but with a broken jar inside. Not necessarily from USPS though.

Last rays of the day illuminating the rising moon and after the sun dipped below the horizon. The color and mood change through the golden and blue hours, with the exact same processing, is always fascinating to me, to the chagrin of my wife who wonders why I can stay at one spot for so long. 50-135 f3.5 AI.

Nice sequence! Great colors too, subtle.
I once got a pic of a tree half in sun and half in the earth's shadow. I was riding home from work on a bicycle and noticed that I was right in the terminator. I can't post the pic here though because I took it with my phone.
As for spouses (of any variety), yes they do demonstrate patience and we appreciate that!

I would say, as to spouses, that a time comes when both parties admit that the behaviour of the other party does not respond to standard logic, and that it should be left as is.

Nice frosty shot Ray! It is mornings like this that the snow make a scrunching sound when you walk on it.
It scrunched and crunched for sure. For this morning, after the previous evening's cold hike, I stayed within 100' of a warm car.

All the other guests at our feeder disappeared this morning when this guy showed up! Taken with the 135mm f2.8 Ais through the window. Thanks for looking.

Nice birding capture with a 135 nonetheless.

That feels very, very cold but oh so pretty. I'd like to think I'm quite tolerant of the cold but this will quickly get old. Reminds me of a parent I met at the school on Thursday evening. He's been here for a bit and said he and his wife ran away from the white stuff in the US. He finds the sunny and never too cold South African weather much to his liking. Small world.
My fingers are about the only body part that I cannot equip to handle the cold. It is literal finger pain and the after-effects that limit my time outdoors in the cold. Fortunately has not come to the point of moving residences yet.

Currently I go in at 0300-1130, so yeah, bedtime "should" be 4pm-6pm, the new spot is tearing me up, so I'm going back to the other one that's 0600-1500 but that won't take effect till after Christmas In the current spot, I run the SDUS machine ( Small Delivery Unit Sorter), in one of the new format S&DC's (Sorting and Delivery Centers)
Bigger version at a plant
This is why I tell people make sure your stuff is well packed. Next item down that conveyor belt could very well be a 70 pound package, like a set of brake rotors, and those machines don't read that you wrote "Fragile" or "Do Not Bend" on it. Things just plop down into the gaylords or hampers, boom boom boom. I recently found an empty box while I was sorting, set it off to the side hoping I'd find contents in the gaylord I was sorting, fortunately, I found a couple things that were supposed to be in that box of dinner ware, one box of dinner plates, one box of saucers. Sent it to the carrier's case with a note on it for the recipient to contact Kohl's about having the order reshipped, since Kohl's did such a lousy job preparing it for shipment.
Not sure if the Noct would be the little brother or the big brother
That made me do a double take, almost looks like two photos put together.

I really like the colors and rendering in these Ray. And yes it looks cold.
Thanks George. I'm enjoying the challenge and benefits of 400mm for sure.

Hey Siphiwe - thanks for thinking of me. I did find a great weight loss program. Get an eye injection - then within three hours get your flu and covid booster, and chase with a horrible cold and gastro infection. 7 pounds in 5 days - winning! I'm almost back to normal, except I lost my taste. Tomato galette last night - looked great, but nothing on the taste. Hoping Barb will do a repeat performance when I can appreciate it.Maybe Leighton had leg of Lamb with bottles of malt vinegar and fresh mint?

Ugh. I wouldn't wish that sort of regimen on anyone. All those inoculations in a row probably taxed your immune system pretty hard. Loss of taste (as opposed to wearing ugly ties) was a common symptom of Covid. Probably a symptom of bad colds too. Hope you get completely back to normal soon!
