The slight compressive effect of the 85mm focal length fits the 50+ youngster shot very well. What's even more impressive is that other than a small handful of them, the youngsters are not staring at a phone! There is hope!
Thanks Colin and agree, that first one didn’t really grab me at first but keep going back to it. Makes you want to slip into a canoe and go find a gator.
I need to step out of my figurative "flower box" to contribute more to the 85mm topic but I am so tied up this weekend. One from Wednesday,
Nikkor-H Auto 85mm f/1.8 + Z5
In a moment of moronic madness, I broke the Df mounting this lens in May. It's at times like this when I forget what aperture I was at that I miss the thing.

Sorry about your Df, can it be fixed? Gorgeous rose BTW.
I like them both, Leighton, though I'm always a sucker for dawn colors and a touch of fog.

Love the 85mm shots. I’ve pulled my K mount f/1.8 out, now to use it…
In the mean time a couple more Series E 70-210. Didn’t handle flare well but otherwise decent performer.
I'm with the others on that first shot Matt. So many things working for a great pic, the setting, reflections, OOF framing elements, and whatever that is floating on the water.

Wow, that must take some force to break a mount, Siphiwe, hope you got it repaired.

Continuing the 85mm parade. These are with the 85 f2 Ai. (I had the 85 f1.8HC at one time but sold it. DUH!). Thanks for looking.
Scott
Nice Scott, that yellow is a great highlight to the rest of the blueish pic. Your work with the 85mm f2 is the reason I have two 85mm MFNG.

A couple of candids from the same location/lens/camera combo as before.
The two pics appear so close together that at first glance I thought they were one shot and it puzzled my brain as to what I was looking at (can you tell that I end up looking at pictures before more careful reading?). Now that I can tell that it's two separate pictures, that lady really jumps out of that second picture.
I got off work a little early today and made a quick jaunt to a small nearby village. Specifically brought the 85mm f1.8H out to play. A couple of rust sculptures to start.
