Who me?? I do have the cure! When I feel the attack coming on I instead go read up on various species from Florida or the zoo there that Ray keeps on featuring here

I would go with these 3- 28 2.8 ai-s,35 1.4ai-s and a 50 1.2 ai-s they will get you thru a month or 2

Ron, super nice image with that reflection. Was that from the day you said you didn't like your shots from Longwood?

For those who are interested in the more rare of MF Nikkors . . . .

http://seattle.craigslist.org/kit/pho/3639630347.html

I won't be making an offer any time soon, though it would be cool to see one in person and throw it on the D800 (after it was AI'd) . . .

Ron, beautiful picture.

I wanted to share the trip to lake Coatepeque in El Salvador, this is a crater lake, very deep, not sure how large but large enough. the tallest mountain around it is the Santa Ana Volcano, about 9,000 feet, all the forests around are really coffee farms. My dad was a coffee farmer, we lived in the nearby town of Santa Ana and had a house on the lake where weekends were spent fishing, snorkeling, skying, the nights going by boat to our friends houses for parties and games. (We were kids free to roam, but it was so safe and beatiful back in the 50s and 60s)

Nikkor 16mm 3.5 and 25-50mm 4.0 D800.

Rafael -

Stunningly beautiful! Great work with that 16/3.5. Though the last one surely is not a 16mm image

O.K. I finally figured out how to do this. As you may note, I've been a member here for longer than many of you, just too cheap to pay for uploading photos. And I have been a lurker to this thread since it began. I am an active participant over at Nikon Cafe (Pa).

My profile now shows that I have four MF Nikkors: 24/2.8 AIS, 55/3.5 AI micro, 105/2.5 AIS, and since last week a 135/3.5 AI. You folks are to blame for most of the expenditure.

I'm really enjoying the 135 as I seem to have lucked into an

Glad you decided to join the conversation Jim. Since you're playing with these lenses it makes sense that you'd participate in this get together. As folks have suggested, the only downside is that it is difficult to resist new lens purchases when so many on this thread are so often tempting us with what they're doing with lenses we don't already own. I didn't get to 32 lenses by accident... I may be among the enablers at this point in the life of the thread, but I started with only eight lenses. The combination of subtle encouragement and the continued evidence of the capability of these lenses made resistance futile. But if you've been following us for a long while, you know what you're getting into. Have fun with your lenses, share your work and your observations. This really is a great place to celebrate these lenses.

Kevin, thanks for the comments on the old camera images.

Leighton, looking forward to some work with your new 28 2.8.

Samy, more nice images from DC.

Ron, that floor at Longwood looks like water!

Rafael, really like the lake images.

Curtis, daffodils! What are daffodils? They are hiding below ground here. Nice image BTW.

Rafael, very much enjoyed the subject and the top notch execution of the pictures from Lake Coatepeque.

Samy, great job on the memorial war series, I especially like the B&W conversions.

Kevin, wonderful b+w conversions on the building abstracts a few pages back!

Ray, I'll join in the chorus of praise for the zoo shots, outstanding. You make that 300 shine.

Ronny, that Zeiss lineup is just too much, good thing it's definitely too rich for my blood.

Hope all the eye problems and convalescing is close to being done, well wishes to all.

Ray

Wow, dafs already? We are at least a month away form those, though the shoots have been showing for some time.

Beautiful photo - makes me look forward to Spring.

Why do I see that 500 reflex so inexpensive? The shots I have seen with it are great? Is it tough to use? I know it's not very fast...but the shots all seem quite good..

What to do. what to do. what to do. I think I have my D7000 w/kit lens sold. Now do I wait to get the D7100 or, go for the D600 for sale locally for $1500 with 1000 actuations or a refurbished one or one listed on the B&S?

Whoa! I can't believe I'm reading this! Ray without a DX camera? After all the glowing comments about the D7100?

You know what a big fan I am of FX cameras Ray, but the problems the D600 is having would make it a tough buy for me. Of course, Leighton could have a different opinion and his would be based on first hand experience rather than cyber chatter. I'd definitely solicit his opinion before deciding. Of course, if your camera is soon gone, you'll have a three week wait before the D7100 is available and that assumes it arrives when promised. B&H says March 21...

Good luck Ray. I've no doubt that whatever camera is in your hand you'll make fine music with it...
