Love how you made the colors sing even in the dreary looking day.

View of the bay of Naples from our hotel room balcony. Each day delivered something different.
All with 50/2 HC on Z6.
Naples itself is stage left. Pompei (incredidble place & images to come later) is to the right of Mt Vesuvius, roughly where the foreground cliff in the first image intersects the bay.
Traffic is horrific in this part of Italy so smog is apparent.
Beaches are few and far between on this rugged coastline so 'boardwalk' beach clubs are built out on piers.
In high season it gets very crowded. Some were already shutting up shop in mid-September.

Curated trash, that's a great explainer for the feeling I get in the rare occasions I go to one of these. You can get interesting pics out of it though, like you've shown.
Ray,
The way I look at it - a stylist arranged the products for free - then disappeared with the marketing director, sales rep,etc to let me do my job - hassle free. When many chiefs are in the kitchen - rarely are the results good - 99% of my marketing/advertising career I got left alone to have complete control - following a written brief. When on rare occasions the stylist, advertising director, press sales rep, company owner, family of the model (I could go on) showed up - my policy was keep my mouth shut and shoot everything they asked me to do. These are the only times I actually got into trouble, because I didn't share my opinion about what they wanted. I'd even offer, but they were not interested in my opinion - only to have my department head say "you should have told them it was an idiotic idea". I laughed and laughed at that one, because I likely would have been fired for speaking to a large account or advertising agency like that. These antique stores are all pre-arranged by elves I never get to see or hear. No drama, no angst. It is like shooting fish in a barrel - moving from setup to setup.

An ISO 12800 shot with a Z7ii, processed thru Lightroom Denoise; this technology really does open up quite a few possibilities. It was half hour past sunset; the camera saw better than I did staring directly at the scene. 200mm f4.0 AI Micro.
For all our friends down south in the path of Helene, stay safe! See you on the other side of the storm, if you get the chance let us know you fared well.
Lots of good new kids TV shows. Trash Truck, Lucas the Spider, Octonauts, Stinky & Dirty, Puffin Rock, Tumble Leaf, and Miss Rachel. Here is my grand daughters reaction to hearing Miss Rachel come on the TV. D850 with the 105mm f2.5 ais
Daily dose from Italy using the 50/2 HC.
We visited Herculaneum the day before our outing to Pompei.
It is a half mile walk from the train station at Ercolano.
Let’s just say that the train journey between Sorrento and Naples adds an interesting dimension to one’s vacation.
The station at Ercolano. Typical under investment in infrastructure maintenance.
Hurricane Helene passed through our area early this morning. A lot of people are without power, but there's not a lot of flooding in our area. We somehow missed out on the worst of it even though the eye of the storm was just a few miles away. Fortunately, we were on the west (clean) side of the storm. We have family members on the Georgia coast that are without power and don't expect to get it back until maybe Monday. No property damage, though.
I took a ride to a nearby state park, High Falls State Park, to see how much water is flowing and it didn't disappoint.
