Hey, question to the group. Do any of you get canvas, acrylic, or metal prints? Any recommendations or places to avoid? I am all set with standard prints, but need to do a few for an exhibit in September and looking at alternative prints.
George
Congrats George. You must share some pictures of the exhibit, and the exhibit promo and info!

More film scanning. Fuji RD was a one year (1993) ISO 100 slide film - that lacked the super saturation of Velvia, but had a warm tone. That was what I used to shoot this in 1993. This huge stick in the sand dune is the very top of a virgin Hemlock whose base is still under the moving sand dune. The person standing next to it (me) is 6 foot 2 inches tall. About 150 feet lower, at the base of the dune, is a beautiful little pond surrounded by Hemlocks, Birch, and Maples. Nikon FM with the 35-105mm ais
Another shot from north of Glenorchy the other day. I camp at Sylvan Lake camp next to the river and took a stroll before breakfast. The glacial flour that causes the blue colour in the water was a nice contrast to the hoar frost on the rocks.

It’s been a while since I printed with them but always good results from ProPrints. I’ve probably done a couple dozen in various sizes. At least they were the while label printer for Walmart canvas and presumably some other web printers.

Although I shot exclusively Fuji today (Dodgers vs Red Socks, Dodgers won in extra innings…they field has many camera restrictions and my Nikon kit would have been too large to bring into the stadium), the skills that I have honed shooting with my Nikon collection of manual lenses made the difference in getting many keepers today. We were behind the netting that protects the fans from foul balls. When using AF, the weaving was tight enough that the AF would focus on it instead of the players. I went full manual mode and got 400+ usable shots…straight out of the camera. I’ll link to them here when I get them hosted, in case anyone is interested.

Classic American Muscle cars ! I am familiar with HEMI engines from extensive watching of US car makeover shows on Freeview channels in Australia ! Still amazes me that you can just order a complete engine and it arrives on a pallet with shrink wrap around it in the States.
Here as promised is a shot from proper LoTR country. The ground is very springy !
