Had a short focal length (28mm f2.0 AIS) mounted when I came across this young buck. It stayed in the spot long enough for me to switch to the 105 f2.8 AIS, without changing its body position much. I continue to be wary of "wildlife" that is as habituated to humans as this buck was, though I have not heard of any real issues here locally with deer/human conflicts other than the almost inevitable deer/vehicle collisions.
20mm f2.8 ais IR photo - plus a a distressing find. Last year, about 15 miles from this park, I found a huge patch of poison Hemlock. I looks just like overgrown Queen Ann's lace and wild carrot (all three are in the same family), but is 6-9 feet tall. I has a sickly sweet smell, and even dead plant stems are toxic for 2-3 years. So I called the county, because it looked like their lawn mowers were spreading it everywhere. The person transferred me to the department head, and he thanked me - saying they would "eradicate it asap". Months later I went back, and they must have found some magic herbicide, because only the Hemlock was dead. This recent outing I smelled it first, and my nose led me to a sign in a patch weeds - none of which were Hemlock (there were dead stalks though). However, as we traveled around the lake there were more patches and signs. It is a native plant, but it seems to be invading areas that it historically never before occupied?

Very nice Ray! If I was the one trying to change a lens, the deer would have crossed state borders by then. Great job doing all of that and getting the really nice pic of it looking back at you.
Samy, the last one that sold in the USA (that I know of) was last year for $19K, and was slightly better. I offered $14K and was promptly turned down, but that is as high as I go. It is not a matter of budget, I only buy if i know I can sell for the same or higher price. The 135mm 4 is not a good buy in this sense either.
"Sorry lensbug, samuraijpn has turned down your offer of US $14,000.00. Make another offer before the item ends."
Okay, sorry but busy lately. Colin my neighbor has an electric BMW yes I think a Taycan?? With a Corvette soundtrack. Actually sounds good with a Vrooom rather than whiz.
Laura, I tried to walk it off to get home. Maybe 50 feet or so, then I hitch-hiked. Walked (hobbled) in and sat. Called the surgeon then the ambulance when Robin got home. Here I am. Hospital stay was okay! Food was great with an everything menu. Really surprised. Nurses all got hugs at end of shift. Still confused as to why they wake you out of a sound sleep to ask “Are you doing ok?”
PT gets here in a bit. Can you say Spanish Inquisition?

I hear you on the PT. I felt fine after the spinal injection last week, went back to work Monday, did ok, PT after work. Tuesday, not so good. Pain running up the spine afterwards.
The electric BMW's are awesome, I got to drive a few last year, I was impressed, but not impressed enough to want to rewire the electrical in this house.
and that waking you up for a check, yeah... just let me wake up on my own and enjoy that rest. Otherwise I'm only getting 4 hours a night on work nights.
