Hi, everyone

Scott, great captures colors with the 25-50 AIs.

Matt, thanks for sharing all the tasty photographs with Nippi. I suspect that it is in very good hands with Samy.

James, great shots of the little people.

Took this one the Saturday before last which was a super hot and hazy day The colors were blah so tweaked with Silver Efex to clear up the photograph.

Had to do some running to get this one. With the 75mm fov, one has to get way back to capture the entire 1776 ft One World Trade Center.

Enjoy the 4th and the grill.

Serge, this is a very nice composition! The positioning of the elements and contrast between old and new is great. Well seen.

Nippi arrived yesterday safe and sound after its adventures with Matt, who had it travel comfy in a packet complete with its adapters.

To ease Nippi into the Mid-Atlantic segment of its itinerary, I engaged it in a bit of small talk yesterday evening.

Wide open with Z7 II/MB-N11 grip.

Very nice! I actually worked at IBM on their SmallTalk VM, which they purchased from a startup called ObjecTime, and it was all those guys I worked with. Very strange/powerful language. The SmallTalk VM morphed into IBM's J9 Java VM, which is still around today.

Wow, VM writer! Very cool. I *was* a Java developer, in one job some other folks of the group were doing SmallTalk and a few of us used to play ping pong in breaks. I was intrigued by a language that was purely objects and wanted to check it out. Now that I have not touched code for 2 decades (for some reason recently I have had to read through some Javascript to decipher stuff, but that's it), I am trying to get into SmallTalk as a hobby to play around with. Still a work in progress.

Turned out that fresh roll was Ilford's HP5. Souped both in df96 monobath and the base on the Ilford is almost perfectly clear, and the last roll of the late 1990s Tri-x stored in multiple car glove boxes was decidedly gray - but it still worked. Looks like the Reflx light meter is a winner for the FM body that doesn't have a working light meter. Now, do I modify the Nikon SA-21 film strip attachment to scan the whole roll - or do 6 frames at a time...? decisions

Question for you Nikon lens film shooters (to keep on thread topic ) ...

Do any of you have experience with DF96 monobath and Neopan Acros II developing? That film is not listed on their developing instruction sheet. I think I read where you can do 2x the regular developing time and be ok with that film, but can't find where I read that now.

Here is my old C3, a 1973 which is nothing special but dear to my heart. Over the years my two little hands have replaced: headlights, radiator frame, radiator, water pump, engine harness, thermostat and housing, belts, generator, distributor, ignition components, carburetor, windshield, tachometer and cable, convertible top, seat covers, door inner hardware, all brakes, entire rear suspension, u joints, etc.

Thanks for the advice, the Pertronix III points replacement is working great with a distributor ground wire (thanks Ken Hill), with the new carburetor it does not smoke and reek of gas, and runs very smooth. Had to figure out how to set a divorced choke so that it does not overly choke the engine after start.

The engine, transmission and rear end are all original, not rebuilt, and the car runs great after 51 years, burns no oil, but it leaks a little, 2nd gear synchros a bit tired, no rust at all.

With the 8.5cm 2.0 and 13.5cm 3.5 MIOJ, today after waxing!

This morning was really foggy, so I went out earlier than normal to get some fog pics, but I didn't like any of them. I did however come away with some nice colors. 55mm f1.2 SC.

Fireworks are difficult for me to process, color saturation, color balance, contrast, exposure, crop.....list is endless. Regular daytime photos are so much simpler.

Last night I did some quick processing on Nikon Studio, I like this software for quick processing of daytime shots.

This morning I went into Adobe, more latitude for processing.

Shots were 20 to 30 second exposure at 1:16 and 1:22 aperture, ISO 64. The city was a bit underexposed for my taste but this way the fireworks did not exceed the sensor range and burn, colors showed nicely on them.

On lightroom, did the color-contrast-exposure-color balance-etc to render the sky less red, so the fireworks contrast more to the sky. Set exposure to the right on shadows, making the sky more visible but noisy. AI denoise to the rescue!
