So another week has passed. Between being extremely busy at work, a long commute and having a cold for most of the week, I have not been able to post anything. I do apologize to all of you that posted all these beautiful inspiring pictures. I am trying to keep up with the thread, but at this pace just reading all of it is even hard for me to do. I don't know how all of you manage this so well.

Today it rained for most of the day so I stayed indoors and experimented with my flash (and umbrella) on the dogs. Unfortunately they are not very willing models. Every time I try to get down at their level to take some shots they see this as an invitation to come at me and try to lick my face.

Here are a few that did work for me.

Bert

Thank you Curtis, John, Peter, Leighton (I'm not a good B&W converter, feel free to try if you like), Monty, George and Jose for the kind comments on my flowers shots.

I like a lot this one Monty, but.....I think it would have been better with a longer focal lenght

More from Siem Reap. These from the amazing Bayon Temple which is located at the centre of the old Khmer capitol, Angkor Thom. The stone faces are massive and have wonderful expressions.

Taken with the 50/1.2 & 180/2.8

Dean, I like the set. How massive are these?

Thanks, Leighton. The towers with faces are around 30m (100ft) high !! All my wide a=nle shots taken here at Bayon were with the 24-70 which shows the scale. I've uploaded them to my photo site if your interested in looking.

Thanks Dean, and thanks for the link, some beautiful images on there. I could have spent a whole day in that one spot shooting!

I've been shooting Nikon since the mid 60's but unfortunately most of my old equipment was replaced long ago. I still have a few 'F' bodies that I use for paperweights.

Since looking that this thread I'm remembering how great some of the older manual lenses were, and now that I have a decent camera body that allows manual focusing, I'm back in the game.

Today I met one of your regulars, Alan (huddy), his wife and super cute son, and bought one of his lenses. Turns

Curtis - I love the perspective on the first bridge shot. I'm still amazed at the amount of steel used in this thing!

Laura - You've included a shot of my favorite candy bar.

Monty - Love the stealthy Rocky!

baumgarten0712 - Is there anyway you can add your first name to your profile so we don't have to call you baumgarten0712? Congrats on the 24mm, I need to use mine more.

Bert - Sometimes it's even hard for me to catch up on this thread, and I'm probably the biggest blabbermouth!

Ok guys, who's going to be the first one on the thread who owns one of these! http://www.ebay.de/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=290811396787&clk_rvr_id=412209524956

This looks like a lens just waiting for Curtis to buy! Isn't there a lot of bling in CA?

Kevin, you have had some super shots with the reversed 50 lately. Great magnification, lighting and clarity in those tiny subjects.

Baumgarten, is that your 1st post here? Very nice pics of the little one! Watch out, you will have fingerprints on the 24 front element very soon

The 24 is a very nice lens indeed. Mine's feeling a little neglected recently so I need to pull that out and get it to stretch its legs more.
