It has been at least 4 years since I last purchased a MF Nikkor. I thought I had my fill.
I saw a 135/2 that wasn't generating much interest on the 'bay so put in a last second low bid and won.
Now the waiting game to see if the hardware matches the well-used but good glass description.
Andy's venture into f/2 glass, recent discussions on the topic, f/2 telephoto images, and the new 135/1.8 Z-Plena must have triggered me into the impulsive purchase. Thanks guys 'n gals! Collectively you made me do it.

On behalf of us all, Colin: you're welcome! I foresee that you will be very glad to have that little beauty in your collection.
This seems like a good time to make a contribution to the IR content of the thread with some photos from my converted Fuji X-T2 and the 24 f/2.8 NC at the Big Qualicum River, where there is a salmon hatchery and an annual congregation of salmon that bears reportedly find very attractive at this time of year (though, sadly, no bears appeared while I was there).

You made me look at my records and it's been 4 years for me as well. I'll be looking forward to seeing what you do with it.

Leighton, I also wouldn’t mind that view from my office, but not sure I’d want to be in my office that early either!

What’s going on with the sky in #2?
That represents the outcome of long-ago negotiations between the conservationists and the highway builders. The result is minimal noise pollution near the bridge and no significant interference with the ecosystem of the river and the local flora and fauna. The bridge is an imposing visual presence, though, when you're right under it, looking up.
Colin, kudos on the continuing Mdina series. I just noticed that figure under the arch? I assume you waited around for just the right moment? Outstanding!
Kenneth, exquisitely processed woven basket detail. Did you create the lighting as well?
Enjoyed seeing the modern side of the Netherlands, Paul and Chris. One of the early attractions for me on this thread was the incredible geographic diversity of the participants and photos.
It's mid October and I've not seen too many "fall color" shots yet, maybe this will prompt some. Some of you live near some pretty accessible color I'd love to see.
Probably the last year I will do this but our old friend
Ray Steele died 9 years ago today
I still think of him every time I pick up my camera
He was a great early contributor to this thread
Ray,Curtis and I spent a day together in Delray Beach,FL
and I shared several outings with him

I miss him a lot. We had many conversations about cameras and life. I haven’t talked with his girlfriend in a while either, will have to reach out and see how she’s doing.

500mm f4 (took it days ago; really busy right now, missing taking pictures). I hope this weekend I can go to the Head of the Charles Regatta.

Big loss to the thread, really one of the early folks on here who helped establish the friendly, warm tone it still has.

Thanks Ray.
Love your set. Not much color here yet as well, but there are some trees that stand alone that are popping. I'll post one later.
What's with the boulder in your last image? Almost looks man made with those parallel lines around the middle and the overall shape. Maybe an alien ship that crashed there thousands of years ago?
