Received an really inexpensive copy of a Nikkor 135mm 2.8 Ai lens from local camera shop today. It is in very nice shape for a $69.00 lens.
So I attached it to the Df and went on a small little hike with the pups for some quick photos...after a few minutes of making photos I realized how much I enjoyed having this little lens once again.

Thank you Colin, Leighton and Laura. I am not sure why it took me so long to make some time to write here again. But things are quite busy. Right now I am preparing for some bigger shows in Cologne (Germany) and Leeuwarden (Netherlands) where I will meet a lot of people eager to provide me with commission work. Still making dice and painting things. Demand is as high as when I started making these, but it's fun to meet all the people.
I should really take the manual focus Nikkors out more often, and become a regular contributor here again
Ani, the 135mm f2,8, regardless of which version you use, is one of Nikons finest. I always enjoy the Nikkor-Q version I own.
@ Adaptedlenses (apologies. I forgot your name, but it will come back. I'm sure of that) that last black and white shot is beautiful!...Show more →

I like these close up candids. Friends of yours?
No, just a shot from the hip as they bulldozed their way onto the Mdina bridge as we were leaving to go and check out Rabat. I set the 50/2 to about 3m and f/8 and press the shutter if interesting people walk by.

Life has been very busy, and at one point, work accumulated up to a point where Kristina kindly pointed out to me that I was busy with a million things that were not family. That was a clear signal that it was due time to sow my pace a bit. ANd one of the best ways to do that, is by spending time with the family and taking the camera with me. We found a nice little zoo, not to far from where we live, and visited three times now. The oo specializes in European wildlife, which is quite nice for a change. A lot of the animals tey take care of are among my favorite wild animals, so it was a real joy to see them up close, in large enough enclosures.
Anouk turns 7 this Saturday, and already visits elementary school, which she really enjoys. But she also found joy in taking photographs.
Lumi and Amy are also doing well, but sadly, Fluse recently passed away at the age of 5. I'll leave it at that for the moment, and will enjoy catching up a bit, looking through the photos posted on the last few pages of this thread. I notice many familiar faces, and some that returned here? Also noticed an increased number of mirrorless cameras For me, I still stick with the D800, which serves me well. I recently bought an Eizo Color Edge monitor, and that does make quite a change over the cheaper panel I used before. Never thought it would have as much of an impact, but now, I think this might be something I should have done quite a while ago....Show more →
Good to see you Buddy. Wow, Anouk is 7 already ! Hope you Kristina and Anouk are well.
Andy
PS - My main camera body is a Fuji mirrorless, medium format GFX50S. At the moment !
I got up early last Friday and dashed down the road to catch early sun on Ellis Beach. There is a really nice cafe, a popular place to stop on the road to Port Douglas, a caravan park with beach huts you can stay in and a Surf Club with Life Guard Station there hidden in the trees.
We've had a couple of bumper months lately for returnees to the thread! Welcome back, Buddy and Ani. It is very nice to see you both!
Here are few of my remaining classic car photos from the Hot August Nights show in Comox. These are just various angles on a single car, courtesy of the 24 f/2.8 NC (first, third and fourth photos) and the 50 f/1.4 SC (second image). You will notice that I produced two different B&W interpretations by way of the Black & White Mix sliders in Lightroom. I think I prefer the darker one (partly because it doesn't have a selfie in it!).
Thanks everybody, it feels good to make photos this time of year, I am inspired by the warmth and all the lovely light that comes with the vibe of fall.

It's 5:45am as I sit here perusing the latest from my friends when I scroll down and your pink/bubblegum car comes on my monitor. WOW...that instantly woke me up!

Buddy, excellent captures from the zoo and good to see you.
Ani, terrific use of light as usual. It has been too long.
Glen, terrific water reflection and classic automobile captures. As Colin mentioned, a bit of Monet on some of the watery shots.
Ronny, great shots of Morris, great name.
Matt, excellent light in your photos.
Siphiwe, very nice colors with the DF.
Medici Chapel, Florence:
One way to see some of Michelangelo's most famous work without the super long lines (David) is here. The chapel and sculpture were completed around 1527. At the time, the space was very crowded thanks to a couple of tour groups.
Thanks Buddy, I’m Matt and great shoots from the zoo. Always fun to get new subjects.
And thanks Serge, always good to see your travel shots as well!
Couple More 135’s

Good to see you Buddy! Wonderful zoo series, thanks for the update on the family!
Ani, always loved how you make your dog portraits shine, especially difficult (I think) with black dogs.
Colin, kudos on the great travel shots. Even more appreciative of the fact that you plan new explorations instead of repeat trips. That's a traveler at heart I think.
Serge, excellent Ponte Santa Trinita shot.
Glen, excellent painterly series. You've inspired me to perhaps try a twist on that later this fall.
