Training for the Head of the Charles Regatta. 200mm f4 micro (not the ideal lens for that, but the only one I had at the time).

Ronny, you are killing it with the macro shots but I really enjoyed the cat ones. Very glad you are coming more.

My 55mm f/2.8 micro still makes me very happy.

Nicely done Glen, the 2nd is the pick of the bunch for me. Any chance of a landscape orientation of that one or was there something in the scene making portrait mode the preferred choice?

Andy

Thanks for your comment, Andy. I had intended to respond to it sooner, but forgot to do so when I put up my most recent post. So I'll do it now. No, there is not a landscape oriented version of that landscape. As I recollect, I chose to orient it vertically for two reasons: to be sure to include both the foreground and the background, as well as a bit of sky; and to limit the foreground to that single bit of bush.

Seems that you got a good LT2 also. I got mine right after announcement and it had more than one QA card in the box. I think mine is stellar. It’s almost too nice, any flaws my Nikon glass has, the LT2 doesn’t hide them.

Kevin, I keep a Lens Turbo II permanently mounted on my IR-converted X-T2, and mounted-by-default on my X-T4. On the X-T2 it prevents the need to manually clean the sensor, as the electronic sensor cleaner had to be removed in the IR conversion process. On both cameras, I appreciate the ability to choose and use lenses without having to think about the crop factor.

For today's image post, here are a few semi-abstract images from the X-T4 at Forbidden Plateau, with help from the Lens Turbo II and the lenses identified in the captions. The first three photos were intentional, and the fourth was a happy accident.

Very nice rippled water painterly effect in the second image Glen - or should we be calling call you Manet or Monet for this one?

Knowing what I now know about this wonderful walled city I’d like to go back with night photography being the sole purpose.
Alas, that is unlikely to happen since there are other places my wife and I want to visit.

Colin,"Like" does not begin to cover this series! Wow! I really "Love 'em"! Beautifully seen, captured and processed. Wish I could see that in person. You really do need to go back at a future date with the same gear and do some of your very special night shots!

Life has been very busy, and at one point, work accumulated up to a point where Kristina kindly pointed out to me that I was busy with a million things that were not family. That was a clear signal that it was due time to sow my pace a bit. ANd one of the best ways to do that, is by spending time with the family and taking the camera with me. We found a nice little zoo, not to far from where we live, and visited three times now. The oo specializes in European wildlife, which is quite nice for a change. A lot of the animals tey take care of are among my favorite wild animals, so it was a real joy to see them up close, in large enough enclosures.

Anouk turns 7 this Saturday, and already visits elementary school, which she really enjoys. But she also found joy in taking photographs.

Lumi and Amy are also doing well, but sadly, Fluse recently passed away at the age of 5. I'll leave it at that for the moment, and will enjoy catching up a bit, looking through the photos posted on the last few pages of this thread. I notice many familiar faces, and some that returned here? Also noticed an increased number of mirrorless cameras For me, I still stick with the D800, which serves me well. I recently bought an Eizo Color Edge monitor, and that does make quite a change over the cheaper panel I used before. Never thought it would have as much of an impact, but now, I think this might be something I should have done quite a while ago.

Received an really inexpensive copy of a Nikkor 135mm 2.8 Ai lens from local camera shop today. It is in very nice shape for a $69.00 lens.

So I attached it to the Df and went on a small little hike with the pups for some quick photos...after a few minutes of making photos I realized how much I enjoyed having this little lens once again.

Nothing like shooting with something "new". Great set, anitrone. I especially like the first one considering the position of the sun.

Buddy! Welcome Back! You crossed my mind while I was reading the previous page. I can't believe Anouk is going to be 7 already. (this from someone whose younger granddaughter will be 17 in January!)

Sorry about Fluse.

Thank you Colin, Leighton and Laura. I am not sure why it took me so long to make some time to write here again. But things are quite busy. Right now I am preparing for some bigger shows in Cologne (Germany) and Leeuwarden (Netherlands) where I will meet a lot of people eager to provide me with commission work. Still making dice and painting things. Demand is as high as when I started making these, but it's fun to meet all the people.

I should really take the manual focus Nikkors out more often, and become a regular contributor here again

Ani, the 135mm f2,8, regardless of which version you use, is one of Nikons finest. I always enjoy the Nikkor-Q version I own.

@ Adaptedlenses (apologies. I forgot your name, but it will come back. I'm sure of that) that last black and white shot is beautiful!
