I've probably shared dozens of images like this through the years. But I've always liked the colors from them. Taken this morning at the market with the 55mm f2.8 ais.
Always enjoy the farm produce pics from the market Leighton.
Scott, sailing thru the Clouds is one of the best in the last few pages.
That QDC does look like quite the performer, Samy. I can see why Jose would want one.
The NC coast B&W's are impressive George. I personally favor the first one, the sand ripples and angled dune line with grasses make for a super composition, backed up with great b&w processing.
The last supermoon rise was completely obscured by clouds around here, I took a quick stop the next morning to see what I could catch. All with the 180mm f2.8 AIS.
EDIT: A little history...
At the newspaper I worked at they had two "page cameras" (huge 6x6'x25') that were setup with similar "industrial" lenses - probably Nikkors. They shot broadsheet pages (approximately 14x24") with vacuum easels holding the page on a horizontal rail camera, then the stage would swing up 90 degrees to face the lens. Sheets of film were used to make plates for the presses. This was during the switch over from "hot metal" plates made of lead - lino-type by setting type (metal mirror image letters on a large drum shaped cylinder) by huge crews of pressmen in a department called "the composing room". That major papers had. At my paper they employed 190 full timers, plus apprenticeships.

Friend in Phoenix has the lens in an Estate and would like to sell it after we can identify it. I would say darkroom enlarger or some type copier.
Colin, excellent photographs of Stonehenge. I need to get my behind out there one of these days.
ocean2058, nice capture of the SR71. I have yet to see one in the flesh.
James, great photograph.
These are from Greenport, Long Island marina which parks several very nice boats. The owner of this beauty must be a super serious Bond, James Bond fan.
Speaking of deer. This one comes to our orchard a couple of times a day, even with Karma sleeping just 100 feet or so away. She also has 2 babies she keeps on the other side of the fence while she's eating.
She could be sharper, but I was shooting through our dirty kitchen door.
Just a heads-up for my many acquaintances here.
Just listed a lovely 55mm f/3.5 compensating aperture macro with M2 tube on Buy & Sell. Later today I will be adding a boxed 55mm f/2.8 mint macro lens and also a 105mm f/2.5 Nikkor-P Auto Ai lens with appropriate caps and hood.
Taken with the 16/3.5 AI at ~f4 somewhere over northern Canada on a flight from Seattle to Reykiavik.
My devious plan to get a window seat on the port side of the plane along with good weather and low turbulence worked out. Best aurora I've seen from a plane window.
Definitely an art to taking these pics hand held through a 737 window

John,
You did a great job given those 2 second exposures.
Iceland? Does this mean we are all in for a landcape treat from you?

Thanks. The aurora only appeared for a half hour or so before it disappeared and was fairly faint by eye.
I hope so on the landscape treat. Main purpose of the trip is to be in Oslo to drop my daughter off at the University of Oslo for the year - that's where I am now.
Weather looks bleak for rest of the week here.
May try to get to the volcano in Iceland on my way back (if I can extend my layover), but the weather also looks bleak this coming weekend.
