Spotted this small caterpillar on the compost bin lid behaving rather oddly and then found it was being ridden by a red ant. had alternating bouts of the caterpillar remaining stationary, going for a walk and then thrashing about. This went on for over 40 minutes before both eventually disappeared (not sure who won).

The animation approximates to the real time speed. The caterpillar really was flicking about that fast.
