I've also posted these in the Alternative Gear forum, but as this is architecture that doesn't normally appear in the City forum I thought I'd include them here.
This set is from a walkabout in a place called Bastakiya in Dubai, which is one of the original settlements in the city. The buildings are good examples of restored 1800's architecture, with wind towers to catch breezes and produce natural air conditioning.
Thanks Ed, Boris and Treebeard - the light was very harsh even though it was around 5pm (currently around 7:15pm for sunset) and the atmosphere was quite hazy/sandy. Definitely a place to revisit when it's cooler, less humid and with better light...
