Thanks Edward and Joakim. Yes, all of my lenses now feel very different on FF (in a good way).
I am really liking the illuminated framelines with this camera. Even with darker scenes, the lines are nicely lit and well defined. It also shows just the one frameline for the lens you are using - not pairs. I had a little bit of time yesterday to try out some "higher" ISO shooting at the museum. I suppose ISO3200 is considered low these days but it is certainly up there for me. There was actually a Leica Acadamie workshop happening which was a funny coincidence. A few of them tried out my camera for a while... I would say I am quite pleased with the high ISO performance of this camera. I did not experience any banding but I also did not push the exposure in any of the images. No NR applied on these nor any color adjustments.
Gary, another wow set. My favourite is the buddha statue. I'm surprised that only one frame is illuminated at a time. From what I've read, they are illuminated in pairs just like the M9.
Zhangyue, I love the first shot. Very nice!
Lenticular, amazing colors from the M8, especially the first shot.
Edward - you know that camera better than me! Actually, I had a little brain lapse there... I have mostly used my 35mm lens so far which shows the 35mm & 135mm framelines. I incorrectly assumed the 135 lines showed the different metering area I selected. Although for me, I think the single frame lines for the lens I am using would be perfect. I really am enjoying the camera so far though.
zhangyue, love the shot with your son and the glass, along with the concert shot.
Joe, shot number 7 with your son under the big sky is great. I think that would make a great B&W conversion too
Gary, glad to see you're putting the new M through it's paces. Still waiting by the phone for mine. Graffiti #2 is great! I think I also know where you work based on the office tower shots
Allen, strong set, especially the first and the last.
Not much shooting lately as work has been busy, but one from home:
Ryan - what a nice shot of your son! Yes, I thought you may have guessed where I work. There is only one building in Calgary which looks down upon the Calgary Tower.... Sometime this summer, I am going to bribe the security guys to see if they will let me on the rooftop for a early morning sunrise shot.
Michael - cool shot! I actually had a little laugh as it almost looks like you cut a picture of your son and pasted it in front of the building.
A couple more from today which was the fist sunny day in a while here in Calgary. With M240... Edit - looks like I already have some dust bunnies to clean.
Are there any regular users that post with the M8 still? I was browsing the flickr pool the other night and saw qualities I'd previously missed when looking before (I think I'd previously just seen poor user control / exposure). The skin tones on some colour images seemed wonderful, I'm not sure if there was any processing/filtering involved though. But certainly makes me re-think it as a 'cheap-casual-cam'... around £950-£1050 on ebayUK!

The M8 is certainly a great camera with excellent IQ at base iso, some even believe it to be better than the M9 and M10, but you have to remember that you will need IR-cut filters on all lenses, and that any iso above 320 is only for special effects

I'm one of those. How I love the M9, the output of the M8 on ISO 160 is still my favorite.
Its like u had to do nothing in post.
Also black and white it was really awesome.
Nevertheless, full frame is quite nice to have so I'm still happy with the switch to the M9.
I sold my M8 a year ago for 1500 euro. If they reach 1000 euro or below I might consider one.
