Beijing this time

The last two were from a film crew shooting a movie/commercial/or tv series, I am not sure which.

Thanks Andrew. They were taken near Banff at Castle Mountain Junction. Yes, the 21SEM is new to me... Not using a finder - just wingin' it... I love your pics with the Noct!

Thanks guys!

Andrew - great colours - they really pop here. I'm partial to the first two. I was kind of curious about the fourth shot. It looked like you stumbled on an intense conversation and I didn't pick up on the diagonal bar being a boom...

Gary Clennan wrote:
Ron - that third last shot is pretty neat. I bought a cheapo metal vented hood off fleabay which seems to thread on no problem. My UV/IR filter also works nicely....

Thanks Gary! That's also my source for hoods and was pretty sure mine worked on the lens I borrowed earlier in the year. Thanks for confirming. Oh well, for the price I guess I can't complain too much.

Another great set, especially the first two!

Nice shots with the 21SEM on the M8 Gary. Are you you doing anything in post processing or simply relying on the 6-bit coding? I owned the ZM C 21/4.5 and although it's a great little lens, shots like these would really need Cornerfix.

Cal, interesting you mentioned the ZM21/4.5. It's a lens I tried (on the M9) when I first got it, and it definitely needed a lot of work to be usable, but sharpness was great. I really wanted to be able to use it, but the vignetting and colour shift was way too much. It will be interesting to see if the new sensor design in the M will be any better with it. I think the 21 SEM shares many qualities with the ZM (small, very high IQ), but without the vignetting problem. On the M9 I find there can sometimes be a slight colour shift on the left side, but in most situations it's not noticeable. Not sure about the M8 though.

Munich again..

The 21SEM is tempting, but I suspect my $ will be best saved for upgrading to the M9 or M. Just blew my upgrade $ on the Summilux 35 ASPH so it may be a while. Here's some shots, with the lens (on M8)

Thanks for comments. all.

Adam, I forget answer your question, the 50cron I have is 2nd version. Rigid. I like it. But I am not sure it is better than current one or not. Bokeh could be busy sometime at f2.

Andrew, nice color from Beijing set.

Ron, Congratulation for Nikkor. It does have classic rendering. I like the last two BW shots from your 28cron set.
BTW, thanks for the link, a very interesting comparison for all 50mm. I indeed like 50lux preASPH the best.

Gary, love the 2nd BIF with sunstar.

Edward,Nice photo. 35 Biogon is one of best 35mm M lens ever made IMO. not to mention 2nd hand price now. I sold mine at $750

Cal, congratulation for the 35lux. #1 is nice. I receive in stock notification about 35lux from BH recently. though, they said no return on the lens. No way I can afford it now, as money will be better spent for the M240.

More from Wuzhen
all from 50cron Rigid.

Again some of my kids picture

Hey guys, new to the Leica scene. Cleared out a lot of my Nikon kit to pick up an M9 and a 0.95 Noctilux. My previous go to fast prime was the Nikon 58mm 1.2 Noct.

Andrew, Zhangyue, Charles, Ron, many thanks for your comments. I agree with Andrew and Zhangyue, the Biogon 35 is a very sharp lens with a nice rendering and a lot of 3D. Too bad you sold yours, Zhangyue

Gary, your snow series are all amazing. The last action shot proves that Leica can do it too

Andrew, great documentary photography on China. Makes me want to visit

Zhangyue, I love the first shot with bluish cast.

Ron, again nicely executed architecture shots.

Ryan, wow, beautiful noctilux shots. Love the 3rd one.

Thanks for comments. Gary.

Gary, that is awesome shots. I like the color, light, and composition. expression and snow flake certainly add dynamic to the photo. I grow up north part of China, so I always enjoy to see snow picture

Ryan, welcome here. #1 is very nice. I may never able to own 0.95, but certainly enjoy to see more pics from it.

Some more from Wuzhen all by 50crn rigid.

I also strolled across the park in Munich (Englischer Garten) yesterday where I had met Ron and where he had taken the fabulous photos you can see on this blog.

First three photos taken with M9/Summilux 50, last three taken with M9/Summilux 24.

And one more shot from the city centre (M9/Summilux 24):

Lots of interesting shots in the last few pages. Ryan, I like the use of silhouettes in that shot with the guy running with the surfboard.

After a few weeks, I got my camera back from the Leica service center in New Jersey. Taking into account that Leica's service center was hit by a hurricane, lost power, and their employees had to deal with the cold and gas shortages. I'd say that they did a fantastic of customer service. Very happy to get my camera back, here some random test shots while i try to get acquainted with the 50 C Sonar.
