Edwin, very nice scans, beautiful! I think its a case of M-M trying to compete with film for tonality?
Deang001, very nice set from your Dubai series. Love #2, excellent shot, good timing and composition!
Charles, another beautiful portrait.
Adam, nice set and congrats on your 90Cron AA. I like the 28Cron cat shot most. I though you were going with 2 or maximum 3 lenses, how many do you have now? I think the bokeh on the 90AA is not that great, very nervous looking to me and not as smooth as say the 50Lux ASPH, but I agree its a really sharp lens.
Mike, beautiful colors to the ZM18 shot.
Bruno, another very nice set, I like your B&W pp.

Trails behind our home this morning, including our a customary duck test shot with new gear.
There is a lot of latitude in the files for pp. When shot at lower ISOs, I could pull exposure 2-3 stops and this kind of negates the need for color filtes all the time. This is a real serious B&W machine, loving it!
Mike, nice shot with the ZM 18
Bruno, really nice portraits of Felix!
Joe, thanks Really nice set of B&W. I can't even refer to them as conversions any more My favourite is #4, the rich tones and details!
Joe, nice shots the leaves are really rich in.... tone(?)
Have you done any print comparisons yet between the two cameras?
I really haven't noticed bad/sketchy bokeh from the 90APO yet, since I really haven't shot to much with it.
Also as for lenses, I'm selling them off as I use them. So I'm only at 4 right now (28cron, 50asph, 90apo, 75rit), but I'm looking to sell off the 75 Summarit (even tho it's a really good lens, just to close to my 50mm). Toying with the idea of adding a 35FLE, since I sold off the 35lux-asph a while back and kinda miss it (will wait untill the 75 is sold). Really cannot stay with just 2 lenses (I'm terrible).
Paul, really neat place to take photos, second from last is cool.
Paul, very nice shots! Amazing feel to the place, and my favourite here is #3 and 4
Adam, the 90 Cron AA is a great lens, just can be a little bit harder to nail focus at times. If you are 35 FL, the FLE is a must
A casual shot from last night, of some very old family friends. 50 Nocti f/1.0 @ f/1.4 and 640 ISO
Hi Folks, I have been super busy this summer. But I have looked in on the thread periodically, and the level of photography just keeps on getting better! There are now, too many images for me to comment on them individually, but lets just say that this is one special thread!
I do have a technical question regarding Firmware update 1.196. Has anybody got it to work with 64gb cards? Also, have you experienced a drop in battery life/usefulness? I know that this was talked about a few pages back, but I just wanted to follow up with a more definitive answer.
I want to use 64gb cards as a form of back up. I simply copy the card, and leave the images on it, and then insert a new card.
Andrew, firmware update 1.196 is fine. I have not noticed a drop in battery life, but there seems to be some delay in stealth mode, sometimes. May be related to the update.
For 64 GB backup, I would not use the SD cards copying via the M9 IMO, as the electronic processor is pushed to max as it is. I use a Mac Book Pro 17", with an external SSD, which is very fast and reliable. I then have a backup on both the Mac Book and SSD, which I then copy on the Drobo when I get back home.
Thanks for the answer, I typically back up to my notebook and then to an external drive. But I occasionally run out of room (mostly due to video) near the end of an extended shoot. I ran across a good deal on 64gb cards last week on Amazon, but I forgot to check for compatibility with the M9. I will update to 1.196 which should solve the problem.
Hi Andrew,
I have the M-M, but I had sent directly to Camera Clinic, just to recheck the RF calibration they have on file for me, particularly with the 50 Nocti, Lux and 75 Lux. Just takes a couple days! Still I'm now so keen to get my hands on it
Paul, excellent set from Chile! The B&W conversions are really nice, I like them all.
Charles, congrats on the Mono and more excellent pictures with the 50 Noct! Can't wait to see you firing away with the Mono and your collection of lenses and share your experiences.

Adam, I've made some smaller test prints with 8x10 fiber paper and they are gorgeous, I think depending on what you shoot and which lenses used, you won't be able to tell a lot of difference between the M9 and Mono unless printed at 24" or larger. I think for B&W shooters, the Mono does provide a much richer, malleable and detailed "negative" or DNG for you to work and interpret your work. BTW, the 35 FLE is a really nice lens, but I think you already know that.

Andrew
Andrew, I read elsewhere and also from fellow shooters mentioning to stay with smaller SD cards such as 8GB or 16GB. I have not upgraded to the new firmware but even with the older firmware, I have mixed experiences with various SD cards, even those recommended by Leica. I've had a new 16GB SansDisk Extreme Class 10 45MB/s card freeze on me last month. After less than 100 shots, the camera said that the card was full.
