p.1 #1 · iPad, meet Courier

The iPad was a major letdown to me, pretty much a glorified iPod touch. But this Courier from Microsoft is really revolutionary. I hope they bring it to the market this year

There are 2 major ways of introducing tech products:

1) introduce a real working product that just meets market expectaions (and maybe doesn't quit measure up) and evolve it over time to eventually incorporate the gee-whiz features.

2) show off vaporware with no scheduled release date to introduce FUD (fear, uncertainty, an doubt) into the marketplace. Wait and see what happens. Do nothing or introduce a "me too" type of product.

Car companies have been famous for their concept cars where engineers got a chance to play with lots of ideas. Some computer companies historically have been known to do analogous things. When it came to produce a car (or computer) for the real world, many if not most were underwhelming.

Well, whatever.

That Courier looks pretty cool!

I'm not sure what you were trying to imply, Bernie. MS hasn't said a single word about Courier. S Balmer even denied its existence, so what's vaporwarish about this? I'm just excited about a new type of product that we can choose from.

My vote's for the Hanvon BC10C or BC10E

http://jkkmobile.blogspot.com/2010/03/hanvon-touchpad-bc10c-and-ba10e-tablets.html

Imagine the tethering possibilities

2 models - 1 Celeron based and 1 Atom based, both with 10" screens. I've taken a look at the Viliv X70, S5's (too small and too spendy), the ClarioMiND (1 year old and already too outdated and not hackable enough), and even a couple of the tablet netbooks...

But damn this Hanvon seems to be the ticket.
