p.1 #1 · which ND filter in zion, the subway?

i will be going to the subway in zion, in late march and i was wondering what kind of ND filter I would need. would a polarizer be enough to get slower shutter speed?
i'm guessing i would be at the subway around noon. i don't know how bright/dark it is at the subway so i have no clue. should i take 4, 6 or 8 stop nd filter?
if you've been to the subway in march or spring time please chime in.
thanks in advance.

Aren't they typically sold in 2, 3, and 4 stop gradations?

If an 8 stop is available, I want one!!

The subway is very dark. You definitely won't need an ND, unless you're looking to get several minute long exposures. At 100 ISO, f/13 around noon, you'll probably be looking at ~30 second exposures if you properly expose to the right. You'll get nice swirls in the pools at that point.

wow really? i've always thought the subway was well lit. i guess all those pics of zion in the forum with long exposures made me think that way. i rather not use any filters so that's a good news.
thanks for the info.

The subway is definitely not well lit. According to my records, I was shooting f22, 15 seconds on ISO 100 film (4X5) in late October with no filters.

I had no trouble getting a walk-in permit at the end of October.
