i love these! it always amazes me how doggie photogs get them to pose.

I like these, but they all seem too dark against the dark b/g. In all there seems to be no separation between the dog and the b/g.

I prefer a hair light above and behind the animal to put some sheen on the coat and provide some separation between the dark fur and the b/g.

All very nice, Nina.

I agree with Chas on the backgrounds, though. A different one for the black dogs, maybe? Or cure the problem with lighting? What do you think?

Nina,
the dogs are great and the poses are wonderful but the lighting isn't quite there as both Chas and Jim pointed out. Seems like you were using one strobe set high to the right and you need fill on the other side. In some cases it works OK but in some you also are losing the opposite eye.
