ksmaghrts: I think the main reason there are so man is partially due to the fact that each preset is essentially three presets. They have a mild, medium and strong verion of each to emulate dropping the opacity % in Photoshop. Realistically you are getting like 30 or so presets.
LR presets are great for common tasks: Sharpening, a certain vignette you like, Clarity +25, desaturate blues, etc. Unless LR starts using layers(I have no idea if it is even possible), it is never going to replace PS for serious image effects. I really like the Totally Rad actions for PS, but these LR presets just don't get it done.

All of these are available online for free.
I can't believe you guys even considering paying for these.
It takes 5 minutes to make them yourself or just search around. Tons of sites offering MUCH BETTER presets for free.
i love my presetopia. there are a handful i use regularly, and am glad to support spencer's great product, but honestly creating my own is so easy that i can't see ever buying other "creative" presets. ditto PS actions.

Every free preset i've found has sucked. Linky please?
www.google.com use simple keywords and spend 15 minutes.. It's not hard and you'll be rewarded for your "hard" work.
Seriously I can't actually believe there are photographers who pay for LR presets. When I read this post I thought it was a joke to make fun of that site.
If you all can't spend a few minutes to learn LR and make your own presets maybe photography is not for you. "Photographers" these days don't want to invest anything in their own business. Everyone wants EVERYTHING and NOW.
Why be creative when you can copy someone?
Why learn when you can "borrow"?
Why study when you can get a How To Become Rich" DVD
Why make your own when you can buy
Every other photographer is now offering workshops, seminars,DVDs, textures and other crap. Just last year they were on this forum asking to critique their first engagement or wedding and now the very same photographers are hosting seminars on How To Become A Successful Photographer? Just 3 years ago some of these shot their first wedding and now they don't shoot anymore and just drive around the country teaching seminars on how to Make It In Wedding Business !!
There are some photographers who were affected so much by the recession they couldn't book even 10 weddings.Knowing that, they teach workshops and sell DVDs because it is the only income they have.
Come on al!! If you want to succeed you need to work hard.If after 3 years of doing wedding photography you aren't making 100K+ then you aren't working hard enough!
People are still getting married and there are a ton of clients willing to spend 5,10,20,50K on YOU.

I agree with all this. Sometimes, particularly on portrait sessions, I like to save some time with a decent preset. No one is saying it isn't corner cutting, and I have plenty of my own presets as well.
