Has anyone had experience with how soon Canon ships a product after it is announced? I am interested in the new T2i and would consider it. However, I need to be able to get some experience with it before I shoot a gig in late May. At this moment I cannot afford the 7d which would be an alternate.

The T1i was announced in March 2009 and released in May 2009. So, I supposed an April-May release date isn't too big a stretch.

"The Canon EOS Rebel T2i Digital SLR camera is scheduled to be delivered to U.S. dealers in early March"

Found a Canon News Release that state they should ship to the U.S.A. in early March. Keeping my fingers crossed!
