Was spraying some sugar/honey/spirullina spray onto my camelia bush before the sun got to it to see what bugs were about but didn't notice this dung fly hiding in the foliage. The dung fly walked off down a stem in disgust and started licking itself.

But I thought Agent Orange went out with Vietnam. . . .
Imagine the indignity. . . a dirty fly being sprayed with a sweet honey mixture, wait till his mates get hold of this. . . .

Thanks for the comments all. I purposely spray the bushes before the sun hits them to try and avoid this .
Peterski - works well in Winter on a sunny shrub to attract the few bugs that are around. Mainly get bluebottle flies but a few others also turn up, including ladybirds and hoverflies.
