Can some one help?
Recently my old faithfull ballhead broke, (Bogen 3262), and is not cost effective to repair. I can't afford a RRS replacement right now but found an old Bogen 3038 tank to get me by. Problem is adapting this head to accept a RRS dovetail clamp. I called RRS to see if they support this head as they have in the past, and they said no!
I have an older 1996 catalog listing the parts for the conversion, it was available as a kit. The B3038 Stem set replaces the entire hexplate superstructure, and allows the clamp to fasten to it.
Has anyone done this? Can someone provide a photo?
Other options would be a Kirk plate, (QR-4) if it is still available.
I realize I can attach a clamp to the hex plate, but this never stays tight.
