My 200th post and my first 'solo' thread, so please be kind. I think that the EXIF is intact. Any comments and suggestions for improvement will be welcomed.
Thank you for the comments and compliments, Tim, Sevan and Ed. I know that some of the backgrounds are a bit 'cluttered', but I tend to like a bit going on in the background as long as it's not too distracting. Sort of like RL, I guess. The roses were sent to me last week by some dear friends when my mom passed away; she was 89 and had a wonderful, fulfilling, long life. She was ready, both spiritually and physically, so that gives us a lot of comfort. Thank you again for looking and commenting.
First welcome to the posting part of the forum! Exif is intact too.
I like the softness of light in #1 though the heavy dark leaf on the left is bit intrusive to the calming of this shot
#2 is gorgeous, I like the details, the play on light and darks and the form of this one. Maybe a little too much dark above but really a nice shot Cindy!
Very good efforts on these as groups too, that is more difficult than single roses. Keep in mind that white when it is OOF (out-of-focus) can quickly become a glowing nuisance, you didn't have that happen but be careful
Nicely done Cindy, I like them all, but 2, 3, 4 and 6 are standouts for me.
My condolences on your Mother, I can relate very well as my Mother just passed away as well (December). It is nice when they have strong faith and can embrace and be ready for what is to come next.

Thank you; I'm not good enough in PhotoShop to clone it out, but I do see what you mean.

I need that sort of advice and help; it's much appreciated.
So glad you posted these, you made my morning
And you made mine with your comments and suggestions.

Nice series of roses! #5 is my favorite. There's something about that composition that draws my eye. Thank you, thunderbird. I thought that this was a bit odd since they appear to be floating in mid-air since the background is so dark, but I liked it for some reason. I'm glad that you do too.

Thank you, Larry. I'm glad that I decided to take the plunge and post them.
Thank you also for your condolences. Her faith was very strong, and that does help. It would have been so much more difficult if she had been afraid and fighting it. It's very tough now, and a mother's love is something that I know that no one will ever replace, but I'll have that in my heart and was blessed and lucky to have her for that many years. My sincere condolences to you also on your loss.
#2 is a beauty,, the soft light is very complimentary on the white rose and the other roses in the BG add interest without taking the eye away from the in focus rose. The highlights in #1 are substantially brighter than the rose, not a good thing in this case. #5 is nice as well, I'd like to see this shot with light on all the roses but a bit less bright. My condolences for your loss Cindy and thanks for the PM.
