I have one of these that the Test button doesn't fire the flash on...any ideas?

1.Does the flash fire when you have it on the camera?
2.New batteries?
3.power on then off..?

No fire when it's on either of my bodies...new batteries were tried last night, and have done the 'power on-power off' thing numerous times!

The flash does power up, the red light comes on, all other functions work but the Test button...

I'm big on Sigma and love the 530 Super, but I had one die on me recently. The flash worked fine, but the AF assist stopped working. I should disclose that the flash was dropped and everything was working fine prior to the accident. Anyway, they couldn't fix it and ended up sending me a new flash. I'd try sending it in and see if they can't fix it for you.
