More Deception Creek shots. This time just below the falls. This is one of the places that Rick Shump revealed to Mike and I last Saturday. You may recognize the little falls from Mike's post earlier. 1 is a crop for a pano view and 2 and 3 are shot with the 100-400L. Thanks Mike for letting me use it!
Love the first one. That is a wonderful scene, well spotted and presented. I might tone down the highlights on the rocks at the mid top a little but otherwise ace! 2 is gorgeous too.

I like the tight framing of each scene here, concentrating on the fractal nature of these rocks, and the beautifully eroded architecture they present to the eye. Just enough room for the water element, not to be forgotten here, as it is after all the main force behind why these rocks look like that now.
For me, the first makes a much bolder statement than the others. But agree with Barry & Santiago's comments about those 2. They might make very nice B&W's as well.
Pretty neat John - this type of shot is why I have found my big zoom to one of the handiest lenses in my collection for landscape work. There is no limit to what you can see for intimate scenes all around you once you have one of these mounted on your camera body
