p.1 #1 · mk IV questions to owners :)

Hi, finally got my mk IV today. So far all I could say is wow!!

Some questions:

- Will D type focusing screen from mk III work well on mk IV? It seem designed long ago for older 1D body. Where can I get one?
- I read there are some recommended sets of AF settings for BIF exist, could you please share this info?
- Any Canon AF related page or online manual besides one in box similar to link below for mk III?
http://web.canon.jp/imaging/eosd/eos1dm3af/index.html
- I know it is annoying question , sorry if so but would be regular UDMA cards serve this body fine, I mean 45mb/s and 60 mb/sec? Do I really get advantage with Pro form Sandisk? Any alternative/cheaper brands besides Lexar to Sandisk you are successfully using on mk IV.

Thanks!

Not BIF, but it is not a bad starting point either: http://www.sportsshooter.com/news/2371

I am still learning mine so my settings are pretty useless at the moment

For BIF settings:

http://www.wildlifeimagesbyles.net/Technique/1DIV_focus_guide/1div_focus_guide.html

I bought a 32gig Sandisk extreme pro 90 mbs and compared it to a Sandisk ducati 8 gig. Big difference in how quickly the buffer clears.

Thanks, that is for sure better than nothing. AF is quiet tricky but at least it is working

Leonid, I am disappointed you feel you need someone else's recommended settings.
Turn everything to default as a starting point and go at it. You'll figure out your own optimum settings soon enough and also have fun in the process.
Enjoy your new camera and let us hope it performs even better than your MkIII.

In most settings I did what you said. AF on this camera is not as simple as you think, for sure I will figure but for now would be good to check what other people did. My mk III was flawless until I need to shoot small birds, than it was so/so to focus. Lots of cases focusing on branch instead of bird.

Well, I am looking forward to hear about your experience with MkIV on birds, flying and stationary too.
