Since purchasing one a couple of weeks ago (got a nice one from B&H), it hasn't come off my 5D II. I'm completely surprised by this. Thought the lens would be ok, but not as sharp, contrasty and colorful as most of my other Ls. Was I ever wrong. At $850 (if you can handle the paint chips), this one's a bargain. I paid quite a few hundred dollars more for mine.
Here's a shot I grabbed last week. A pretty messy pony if you ask me and not a great shot overall (not much character to it), but it does give you some idea of how sharp the 35-350 can be even at long lengths. This was shot at about 250mm, handheld of course. I think the 35-350 is noticeably sharper than my former 28-300.

Why did Canon stop making this lens? If anyone knows.
It was just replaced by the 28-300mm f/3.5-5.6L.
Now I'm trying to figure out how a hood can be run over by a car and NOT be 15781793501 pieces! Impressive plastics technology you've got there, Canon!
