Hi yes I live! But I work now so hard on the 3D stereo setup version to capture the insects in-flight! This take so much time. But into a few weeks the setup will be uploaded on Flickr. The 2 DSLR Nikon D200 and D300 are mounted on the frame, also the 2 AF105/2.8Dmicro lenses, 2 SB-80-DX flashes, and the AF60/2.8Dmicro lens for the detection of the IR laser signals. The 2 camera's are now inline and 2 special front type mirrors are used to reflect the light at 90 degrees to the camera's to obtain a smaller stereobase.

Insects are now sleeping, begin April I like to start outdoors with the portable 9kg 3D setup arround my neck.

Frans.

I picked up the link from Twitter, Frans. I never get over here to Macro, but your technique amazed me so I thought I'd share. Little did I know you've been sharing here a lot longer. Thanks for the inspiration.

Thanks Tom! Sure into the springtime I will be back with new macro (3D) pictures. I'm not too much active into the winter because the big works on the new setup every year.

@sskoutas,
Yes my setup is now arround the hole world. Started with a small article in Make and everyone see now fotoopa. I received the last days more than 430.000 clicks on Flickr. Internet is a strange media, my setup is one year old, very little people really understand what i have done and than just a few pictures in Make and everyone look now. On sunday alone 198.000 clicks. Now many forums take up this setup and even than you see that the text into the publication is sometimes total wrong. They d'nt understand how the IR laser system works to measure if a fast moving insects of 1 mm dimension flights through the central pictureframe and is in focus (measure time is only 40usec).

Frans.
