Don't know about that since I don't know what he looks like when he's sick and when he ain't, but I love the lighting and the shadows... and the texture in that shirt in this shot!
His "conjunctiva appear injected", (whites of his eyes not as white as they should be). Most likely the photo, but is a sign found in many upper respiratory conditions such as flue. Never argue with a mother when she says her child is sick. First rule of pediatrics. Nice photo.

I don't think he looks sick, but his eyes look a little puffy. But like someone else said, hard to say since we don't know what he normally looks like.

Thanx for the comment. I was actually testing lighting for a brief 4x5 session. I use my D700 just to check lighting and my wife commented about the sick look. I had just set up some hot lights I got from Lowes of all places. Go figure.
