It stopped snowing about 2:00 pm today Saturday. It started snowing last night, Friday around 7:00 pm. Now Ted being Ted I planned on shooting some fun in the snow.
Boy, I am excited...
bird food-check..ahhh yeah
perches, lubed and oiled-check
cameras/cards, check
shovels-check.......................
Ok...so it's Friday night can't go to sleep yet so, I watch a movie the "Hurt Locker" with my son Jordan and my lovely wife.............What a great movie.........
Well it's been snowing 4+ hours....can't go to sleep so.......I pull out the ole shovel and clear off the snow around my bird paradise. Musta been 4 inches or so...
Approximately 12:01 am I am in bed with dreams of birds dancing in my head....
1:30.......go back to sleep....
3:00......Ted go back to sleep.......dreaming of burdies
5:00.....my wife wakes up...makes a pit stop....ah Ted......" your tree fell over".......................................................................................................
OMG..................Quickly dress and out the back door in minutes...........
!#@**%$...................My tree and perches knocked over by the wind.............at least a foot or so of new snow............breathe in...breathe out...
Wax on...wax off...
As Roger would say, I did good..

Wonderful set (taking full advantage of the snowy conditions). I was trying to pick favorites but I can't. The falling snow is magical. After looking for the third time I like #4.
Well done Ted.

The last three.........................I kinda thought a hawk might drop down outta the heavens but ......no!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for the look...Sorry for the long thread. Lastly, I know I had to work with poor light and intermittent high winds. Next time I might use my 2nd with the 300mm so the snow does not interfer with the subject.

I could not believe it but of course I was locked and loaded........I had a great day even if I started shoveling snow at 5:00 AM. Thanks for the reply!!!
Lovely work Ted. You have a great series there! I always feel so sorry for the little birds in that weather!
Hope your feeders are still intact! You brave the snow well. ;~) I think I'd fold up with my hot chocolate and hibernate! We should have a winter get together here on the west coast so you guys can warm up!
