Thank you for the look. That's my son by the way. We had a lot of snow over the past few day's so the snow on the ground bounced a lot of light back up into his face. That really helped in controling the shadows under his cap. Not to mention his eyes.
I love the first image - so simple and clean. I'd like to see a version with all the little sticks cloned out, and maybe even see what it would look like with the left-most tree gone (but same crop).
I love #1. I think the composition is great just as it is, and I think the sticks/weeds sticking up out of the snow give it more realism. That one should be hanging on your wall.
