p.1 #1 · Solved: Opteka Grip Problem for Canon 5d2

Update: Resolved - Grip works great with both batteries loaded.

Just got this in the mail. Pretty solid build. Only problem is that when it has 2 batteries in it (both original canon lp-e6) it won't give me a battery status. It's fine with one in there - whether on the right or left side. Anyone else with the opteka grip have this problem? Just wondering if it's defective.

Thanks!

Hmm I guess no one's using this grip. Anyone using another aftermarket brand where the camera recognizes the battery status with both batteries loaded?

I have the Zeikos grip for the 5d2 and the battery status seems fine with two batteries.

Well, after the_rebel's comment, I decided to test the Opteka one more time before sending it back. And now it's working properly with both batteries loaded!

Maybe the problem for the first time I did it was I used completely new batteries that the camera never seen before. Not sure, but I'm happy it works now.
