Nice shot Phil, wonderful creatures. I think the lighter coloured BG's have worked better, IMO.

This is great Phil.

Looking at my insect book and the nymph of these guys looks ever cooler, and they are natural to the area I live in. Gotta get out and find some.

Harpagomantis tricolor is also apparently in the region, very similair in colour just no eye spot on the back.

I absolutely love the crazy pose of this mantid. . .it reminds me of some 'fung-fu' stance from the movies.

Great colors, and again I think that the BG actually set-off the colors of the mantid.
I love your pets Phil, shame I can't get them to Oz. . .
