Wow, from Martynas' exposition on landscape photography, to the French models...to the...this thread is just off the richter scale.

Here's one from the 50MP.

Gregg, JS,Lieutenant, Martynas, Zhangyu, Lars - Thank you !!

Gregg - Really enjoying your works. From 50P shots to 1.4 35 shots. Ditto to Carsten. I like how you compose flower shots. Most prominent in #4 few pages back(p477) and #4 in the most recent. I also really like the B/W furniture shot. I call that, 'yummy'.

JS - I like the silky B.W version.

Frezeiss -I like the mood of BW. Is the tilt effect pp or lensbaby?

Zhangyu- Intersting thing I find with sharpening is that level of annoyance seem to vary from which computer I view the image. With my laptop, it looked over sharpened. Also uploading to web pages may add compression artifacts. It really depends on the scene too.( Which is why I have to change the level of sharpening for each image) For me, highlights on the trees bothered me, so I had to fix it. Regarding the cropping possibility of the building shot. Good catch. I saw it, but I left it from my lazyness. I should have at least try including the foreground building a little more when shooting. ( I thought it was a good idea, ha ha ) In PP, I opted to keep and not to crop, but left myself a question mark. Thanks for your input.

Lieutenant - Gorgeous abstract with 100MP. #1,3 are stunning, while the spatiality of #2,4 are of my personal interest.

Martynas - What a treat. Gorgeous B/W abstract snow beauties. Your visual feasts fed my soul so much, I want even more Seriously, hard to pick favorites, but #3 ( also #4 but #3 really shines ) gave me a heart ache. Deceptively abstract, this image captured much more for me. Little life ( flower) trapped in snow, yet melting its way out. So fragile, so beautiful.

Jim - beautiful color and composition. I especially like the placement of taller bottle (eggs inside ), with the dark top area. Also like the cow shot. Great pp.

Siddhu - Love your reportage shots. WB ( or PP ) adds more mood to them too. Great use of 1.4/35 Where subjects are in focus, they really come into life, yet send the rest to the supporting oof area and vignette. Wonderful story telling. #1 especially captured that 'moment'. Other favs are #4, #7.

Liquid - congrats (?) on your 21. First shot , the trios, is quite lovely. Interesting PP. I also really like the image 5. Image 9's spatiality is also very attractive. Very nice tone / mood on that one.

Bob - I was craving for your Urbex shots. I was so excited to see them again, but disappointing to learn that you have not found new spot around MN. Anyway, color on #1, composition with darkness on #2, superb composition of #3 really knocked me out. Great works.

User22- Lovely bokeh

Same here neighbor! Are you in Cookeville? I'm heading out the door but will look through your post / photos this weekend. Really impressed with what I've seen from you so far. I may have some Zeiss questions for you later as well. Have a great weekend!

Lieutenant - Gorgeous color and detail. #2 is my favorite
Edward - Great to see your works here on this thread again, also great to see more ZM shots. Are these from NEX system ? ZM85 dragons shot is awesome. I feel I can almost touch those spiraling necks ( bodies ) . Looking back woman shot ( #2 of second shot ) is also my favorite. Nice timing and composition.

Thank you very much Akul. The ZM lenses are really superb. Classic Zeiss rendering and very sharp even in the extreme corners. I am still shooting with film bodies at the moment, but plan to get the next Leica M (10?) or whatever FF mirrorless body that comes out (my bet is on Sony).

I also thought you were shooting with Sony FF DSLR ? Did I read somewhere you ditched DSLR ? M10 or FF mirrorless sounds great, how do you resist the impulse to get something available? I admire your patience. Regardless, great to see your work

Thanks this thread has some really amazing shots and I've been following it all the time. You and all the others are doing such great publicity for Zeiss

Yes, I ditched DSLR because I didn't like the SLT concept from Sony and was expecting the new A99 to be announced by end of 2011. So I hurried and sold the A900, not expecting the Thailand floods and subsequent delays. In the meanwhile I fell in love with the ZM lenses and the RF concept but the M9 is at the end of its life cycle, so if I wanna shed 7K I would rather wait for a new model. The Nex 7 is unfortunately disappointing in the corners with the ZM, and anyway I prefer FF. The GXR seems to be the most ZM friendly, and I am really fighting against the impulse. Not sure I will keep on resisting once the 16mp M module is released

Sorry to hear that uncanny timing of your selling off of A900 and natural disaster. Which film body are you shooting with ? Older Leica M body ? Mirroless arena is so flourishing it is hard to keep track of. On the other hand, only Leica doing FF, which is rather odd. Now with Kodak gone, I wonder what they would come up with. Not that I can afford Leica. ha ha

Gregg- love the second one (colored tiles) and the dof and texture of the wooden furniture on the bricks of #1....
Edward- great street captures of the Tai culture...
Akul- who said the Zeiss 21mm wasn't good for architecture?
Lieutenant Z- Great color!
