Martin, I like the shots but see exactly what you mean in regards to the ZF lenses on the film body. You get a totally different look with the AF vs unsharp/uncontrasty/unwhatever other lenses

Visca, love the shot! Very interesting PP.
Really nice shots Makten. The ZF 35 does have a very different rendering style on film. Be interesting to see what it would be like on color film, such as an Ektachrome or Fujichrome with the higher contrast.
Nice s\hot Bigkidneys
Nice shots Luka
Excellent shot Ajay!

Lovely. It reminds me of home... (I am working in the prairies right now. )

Great set, Makten. Your shots with the Z* inspired me to pick one up... Found a refurbished one for $750.

Wonderful. The depth of detail is staggering. I see a Macro Planar in my future.

Time for me to contribute to the best thread in FM.

I have used my newly acquired Zeiss 50 MP mainly for cityscape panorama's. I will post a few when I process them. This is a 1 image shot (5 exposures blended manually).

This looks great. Would love to know more about how you did it and your exposure blending process.

Thx!!!

The starting point is capturing more exposures. For Night photography I use a bulb exposure and timer remote. 1st I get a slightly overexposed image to get in as much detail of the buildings as possible (no shadows in the histogram). Then I add a set of shorter exposures (e.g. 8, 5,3,1 and. 0.2 sec for the billboards at f/8).

The process after this differs from photo to photo. Sometimes I use Photomatix to do a blend and then combine it with the original exposures in Photoshop using layer masks and painting in elements from each photo. This particular photo was a full manual blend just adding in from each exposure those elements that are best exposed. An easy way to isolate tones can be fully manual, a "luminosity mask" or by using the color range command in Photoshop.

Thanks all! Yes, I think the 35/2 would be really nice on color film, especially slides. I'll have to try that some time.

Trying to figure out what lens group will come next. I know a 21 is in there, Just not sure between the 50MP or the 100MP, I had a 135L and used it maybe twice. I truly don't think shooting at that distance really works for me. Any thoughts?

Replaced my 135L with the 100MP. Using a three lens combination: ZE 21/2.8, ZE 35/2 and ZE 100/2MP. I think this is the optimal set for me.

I think I am going the same route. I had the 135/2 and never used it. Was thinking the 21, 35, 50MP and maybe something between 85 & 100. Trying to keep the cost down as I still need a flash and decent tripod...

Liking those shots Charles. Really leaning towards the 50MP as I tend to lean towards a WA rather than the 100 FL. BTW, 1 & 2 definitely have that 3D look with the seperation going on...

bigkidneys, that is a different lens than you are speaking of. Charles' shots were with the ZM 50 Planar, not the ZE/ZF 50 MP. Totally different optics, though both fabulous. I love the bokeh of this lens

Charles, I like the color better on most. I see who you were focusing on in the last pic
