Not much of a hockey shooter, but this is the first opportunity to shoot this camera at high ISO WITHOUT cycling lights. NR used on some where indicated. Tell me what you think...
I don't think so. I think f4 is just picking up the net, making it look that way. Looking closely at the subject it comes across as nice and crisp but not over sharp.

Wow great stuff Paul... but you saying you're not much of a hockey shooter is like Mario Andretti saying he's not much of a driver of red cars. You shoot youth sports, it's gonna be magic.
Dig 2, 3 and 5, but of course, all good.
Just curious to see these without the NR applied, and not because it's overdone or smearing at all... just curious. I don't bother with NR with the D3s, even at ISO12800:
I go back and forth on the sharpening on #2 Paul. I think maybe the facemask looks a touch over just because it's chrome and the reflections of the lights and arena are tricking me.
These look great overall, as usual. It looks like you were allowed to shoot from the bench?
Paul is your NR in post or in the camera itself? Either way, I'm having a hard time distinguishing between when it's used and when it isn't (Damn those D3's!)
